Hyundai does not want to assist with warranty claim
To Whom It May Concern,
I have tried to address the concern with the dealer principle and the Head office but have had no satisfactory redress. They advised that I contact MIOSA.
I bought my I20 in September 2013 with a 5-year warranty. The dealer has been really helpful thus far until recently. Last year a few sections of my car such as the mirrors, bumper, car wing and door handle of my car was resprayed because the clear coating was coming off/fading. Not once did they argue the issues.
Earlier this year I noticed my headlights clear coat was peeling/fading. I took my car in and they declined the claim because they stated that my light clear coat was coming off/fading because a high-pressure hose was used. I tried to get that in writing but the warranty clerk (Greshwin) refused to give it to me, His boss then told my husband he needs to get it from Hyundai customer care. My husband phoned Hyundai customer care and their representative said he was talking nonsense and we should deal with the Dealer Principal (George Nowers). After trying to contact Mr Nowers multiple times, they always promise he will call me back. I finally got in touch with him. He then suggested I bring the car in and go with them to the panel shop they use that had done the previous work on my car. The panel shop had stated that the reason the clear coat was coming off/fading was not that a high-pressure hose was used but because of the sun. I then asked the panel shop if they remembered re-spraying the other parts of my car and what did they think the reason the other section was peeling/fading. The remembered my car and stated that the other sections were because of the sun.
My question to Hyundai, if they had the other section sorted, why not the lights. They then agreed they would have the coating sorted out by asking the panel shop to polish the lights. I agreed. I took my car in. They said that they will send the car to the panel shop and call when I can collect. When I went to collect, the lights looked like nothing was done except scratches on my lights. I notice that the mileage on my car was only 1km more than when I gave it to them. I checked with google and the shortest route would be a 2.6km drive there and then a further 2.6km drive back. I queried the lack of km on my car and did not get an answer.
I then sent them another email to state I was not happy with the “polish” because my one light looks scratched and the other is still the same. I have photos to prove this. I contacted them again stating that I want my lights replaced because the other work that was done and it was confirmed by the panel shop that it was not caused by a high-pressure washer, why now not replace my lights because we tried the to have it fixed.
I am at a point that I want boy cot Hyundai. This is my 3rd Hyundai and never once have they failed me.
Can you please assist me in this matter. Should you require any further information, please feel free to contact me.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards, Jolene Wahl ********** 639
