Hyundai did not provide the service I paid for and laying a complaint at the dealership was just asking for a scolding from the manager.

My car (Hyuindai i10 1.1 gls motion) had a wobble problem and I mentioned it when send in it for service 2 times, once in uMhlanga and again in Springfield and I was told by Springfield that I needed to change my brake pads, which weren't, at that time, that old but because they were not Hyundai brake pads I decided maybe that is why my car has a problem so let me change them to Hyundai pads ( a supposingly trusted brand). Still even after the new brakes my care still had the wobble. I did not go back to Hyundai Springfield because I figured I didnt really pay for a diagnostic but rather it was just a service they were not obligated to find the problem with my car.

A few months down the line the wobble got really bad and I couldn't drive my car and so I decided maybe I should get a proper diagnostic and so I asked my husband to take my car to Hyundai PINE TOWN, as it was the closest to where we live, for a FULL diagnostic. Now you need to bear in mind that neither me nor my husband are technicians or know an extensive much about cars. I just knew that it wobbled. A guy called Les called me and said they were going to do a full diagnostic on the car and they would charge me around R1,600, which I thought was a little too much, but I was so desperate to get a proper diagnostic and trusted that Hyundai, the people who made my car, would actually be the best to do the job as they should know the car best. So I agreed to it. Les then called me and said something was wrong with both my CV joints and I needed to replace my whole clutch kit and the clutch cable. I took his word because I really trusted they were thorough. He then went on to quote me about R26,000 for the new parts and unfortunately I did not have that much money at the time so I humbly declined the repair in hopes of fixing it when I do have the money.

I then happened to come across a reputable repair shop who then fixed the car according to Hyundais diagnostic. The car was able to drive again and it had a brand new clutch, but it still had the wobble and the guy at the repair shop then mentioned that the car had an issue with the brakes, not the brake pads in particular but something to do with the brakes. This was not a shock to me because I had been mentioning this to Hyundai for so long and they could not tell me what the issue was. I assumed that the CV joints they mentioned in the diagnostic must of been causing the trouble with the brakes when they gave me the diagnostic report and so that is why I did not pursue the matter of brakes when the gave me the diagnostic report.

I am so unhappy with the service and customer service I received with Hyundai. I called back Les and told that they actually did not do a FULL diagnostic like the said they would because after the car was fixed for all they had on their diagnostic, it still had a wobble. He then put me through to his manager, Ryan Raspin, who had such a RUDE tone. From when he answered the phone he was ready for a war. He mentioned that they did not diagnose any further after they had told me about the CV joints because I had refused repairs (of R26,000 without labour on a Hyundai i10) on the CV joints. I then said to him that means they actually did a half job then when I actually did pay for a full diagnostic. So in actual fact I paid for a diagnostic of the first problem they found and when I decided I did not have moeny to fix the first problem they did not continue with the diagnostic.

This for me is really unacceptable especially because I had been complaining about the brake to Hyundai, fair enough it wasn't the Pine town one but surely it was on record somewhere that I have been asking for Hyundai to look at the brakes. Also because I am not a technician I am the one relying on you to tell me what is wrong with my car because I trust you know much more than me.

Ryan mentioned that they did look on the system and realised that I had recently changed brake pads and ruled out that brakes could be a problem. But HOW!!!?????, if they only changed the brake pads. Pads are not the only thing there is to brakes. I know this because when Hyundai changed my pads my car still continued to wobble.

I asked Ryan to please explain to me where on the diagnostic report or on any contract or legal document available to the public did it say if I refuse the repairs to the first problem they find during a diagnostic that the diagnostic ends there and I would still have to pay for a Comprehensive diagnostic. I really feel cheated by a brand I thought I could trust. I feel and have actually seen that Hyundai really has no regard for actually providing full service worth the money customers pay for but rather want the quantities to generate revenue. Customer really don't just pick the money off trees but rather work really hard for it and choose to spend it on Hyundai because they trust you will provide a full service worth the money they pay you.

I really hope that this behavior makes you lose revenue and realised that customer are the reason you exist.
