Highly dissapointed car purchase

We are very disappointed in Hyundai Centurion, in particular the Dealer Principle, Nico Stroh. We bought a second-hand car earlier this year. On 27 April my husband reported a clutch problem on our vehicle. On 7 June, after various visits to Hyundai and several phone calls without positive response from Hyundai, we eventually asked a lawyer to send them a letter. After receiving the letter, the salesman, Danny, phoned my husband on 20 June and told him that they had decided to repair the vehicle. We took the car in on 21 June, Tuesday afternoon and were told the car would be ready by the following Friday, 24 June. On midday Friday my husband was told the workshop didn’t have the necessary tools to fix the clutch and the car would be taken to GM in Hatfield. On Wednesday morning, 29 June, Danny told my husband that he submitted the paperwork at Hyundai’s financial department for payment to GM Hatfield and as soon as the payment was done, the car would be released. By Wednesday late afternoon the payment was still not processed and my husband phoned and tried to speak to one of the senior managers; he was referred to the different management levels and ended up speaking to the salesman, Danny again. Obviously senior management were not willing to exchange dialog and resolve the matter.

We decided to go, in person, to Hyundai on Thursday morning, 30 June, as we needed our car to go on holiday the next day. We asked the receptionist to see a senior manager who was able to speedily resolve the matter. We waited for a while and then Danny came to us at reception, once again showing the lack of concern positive customer service from the senior management. After waiting for another half an hour we asked to be taken to the Dealer Principal’s office. Nico Stroh came out of his office after about 5 min and my husband started explaining why we were there, Nico interrupted him and said “I know all about this situation, you will have to sit and wait”. I asked him for about how much longer, because we were waiting for an hour already. He turned red in his face and with a raised voice said: “Mam, I told you to sit down and wait! We are dealing with the matter”. I find Nico Stroh’s behaviour extremely rude and arrogant. He never provided any apology to us for not being able to use our car for almost two months, while they tried to avoid fixing it and also for the delayed payment to have our car released. He made us wait for another half an hour before the payment was settled.
Well done to Danny and the receptionist Wilma who went out of their way and do all they possibly could do in a professional and friendly matter. Maybe the Dealer Principle can take some valuable tips from his personnel
