Highly disappointed with regrets.

On the 06 July 2016 1:30 pm, went to Hyundai web site as I was looking for a used but still in good condition H100 bakkie to purchases. While browsing I fortunately found a 2012 H100 bakkie in Queenstown dealership just the way I had imagined (picture attached) costing at R94 500.00. This looked like a good deal to me as I had already secured a small business agreement with a client, I quickly called my bank to apply for this opportunity and application was approved in no time.

I then excitedly called the dealer in Queens town, Spoke to a gentleman called Johan if I still remember correctly & told him my story. This gentleman was very excited too but raised something to me, He said we still got the bakkie but I’m afraid the price on the site is incorrect so that got me very demotivated as I was looking forward to owning this bakkie to venture into the business. Now this got me very upset that around 01:36:25 am I sent an email to the dealer (Email attached)

The following day around 07: 45 07/07/2016 I gentleman named Rowland Godeffroy called me confirming a receipt of my email, he acknowledged the mistake and promised that regardless of the error the bakkie will be sold at R94 500.00 provided that I submit my documents on time to him. Documents were sent to him so he passed them to finance department for finance approval as they had to reapply for finance not sure for what reason.

The deal went through on the 13 July 2016 but I couldn’t sign as the vehicle 1.year model 2012 was incorrect, year model was changed to 2011 so the deal continued accordingly. On the following day 14 July 2016 contract signed and sent back.

After carefully reading the contract I realized that the amount has changed from 2.R94 500.00 to R107 197.00 so I then phoned the finance lady called Penny Poingdestre raising the mistake she had made. Penny explained that as per Rowland Godeffroy: Canopy, Delivery & Licensing amounted to R11000.00, I then asked but how because Rowland & I have agreed on the original price? She rep**** “Just call and check with him” did as told but didn’t get a clear answer from Rowland as he then mentioned that he had made a loss on the bakkie already so that was the reason those accessories where added so I got very confused that why wasn’t I told about this change.

On the other side Rowland had arrange with Johan co-worker to assist with the arrangement of delivering the bakkie from Queens town to JHB the following day.

On 15 July 2015 around 15:45 PM bakkie arrives in Woodmead centre. it’s been driven all the way, but then the delivery amount paid? Ok driver gave me the keys with no spare key, showed me few things then mentioned that the 3.speedometer is not working I had to send it to Hyndai Woodmead for a technician to fix then he left.

The hyndai dealer is in the same centre so I drove the bakkie, asked for a technician. When the technician came I told him to evaluate the whole bakkie because it seemed to be not in a good condition.

Faults:

1. It was unprofessionally repainted which I was not told about ( it had an accident before according to my observation) paint all over the battery, door handles etc

2. Unhygienic – could have really appreciated if at least it was sent to auto valet before delivery. Dust was all over on the inside as if it was not running for months.

3. Speedometer was connected accordingly , it’s just not working. Now how can you say that the mileage on the bakkie is 94000 Kms? When did it stop working? Is the mileage correct?

4. If the engine was redone, a bakkie at 94000 km is still in good condition for an engine to be redone (my opinion)

5. Technician then raised his finding too: Brakes out, hand break lose, sump had oil lik, turbo not working, clutch faulty and the list went on & on.

I immediately called Rowland to let him know about all the issues I have uncounted already with this bakkie in less the 20 minutes, He also spoke to the Woodmead work shop manager who also test drived the bakkie.

The following day, On the 16/07/2016 early in the morning I dropped the bakkie at Hyndai Woodmead to be fixed as promised by Rowland. Unfortunately till to date 2016/07/22 it’s still not back.

Just to recap, this bakkie was for a business deal that had to start working on the 18/07/2015 so I have lost an estimated amount of R 13 000.00 till to date now how do I pay for this bakkie when it’s inactive at the work shop while the debit order is getting closer?

Can I have another bakkie with no issues before the end of next week.

MISREPRESENTATION !!!!!

CONFIDENCE YOU CAN DRIVE

Buying a pre-owned car can be nerve-wracking, because you never know the exact history of the vehicle.
