Formal Complaint Regarding Incomplete 75,000 km Service
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the service I received at Hyundai Lenasia for my vehicle’s 75,000 km service, which was carried out in June.
Approximately six months after the service, my vehicle began experiencing mechanical problems. I consulted a local mechanic, who advised that the vehicle required servicing. During the inspection, it was discovered that the spark plugs had not been replaced, which resulted in the vehicle smoking. I was therefore required to purchase and replace the plugs at my own expense, despite the vehicle having recently undergone a major service at your dealership.
When I contacted Hyundai Lenasia to query this matter, I was informed that Hyundai has a policy whereby spark plugs had never been changed on my vehicle. This response is deeply concerning, as it raises serious questions about the purpose and value of booking a vehicle for a major service if critical components are not inspected, serviced, or replaced when necessary.
As a result of this situation, I am now being advised to either re-service my vehicle or book it in for a diagnostic assessment, which will cost several thousand rand. This places an unfair financial burden on me as a customer, especially considering that I re**** on Hyundai Lenasia’s expertise and professionalism when my vehicle was serviced.
I am extremely disappointed, as it feels as though I paid for a service without receiving the full benefit of what was promised. At this stage, it appears that customers are making payments without meaningful work being carried out on their vehicles.
I kindly request a formal explanation regarding this matter, as well as clarity on what was included in the 75,000 km service performed on my vehicle. I would also appreciate guidance on how Hyundai Lenasia intends to resolve this issue in a fair and satisfactory manner.
I look forward to your prompt response.
