FLIMSY HYUNDAI PARTS.
I purchased a brand new Hyundai Accent 1.6 in mid 2015 from Hyundai Umhlanga. within the first six months the shocks that open and closes the boot lid packed up. When this happens the boot simply does not stay up. It collapses, which it quite dangerous. I then took it the the Umhlanga branch it it was replaced.
Last year, May 2019, the clutch gave up on me while driving through Durban CBD. The clutch pedal simply wouldn't go in. The car was undrivable and and had to be towed to the Umhlanga branch. After two weeks the clutch master was replaced. The mileage at the time was 49212 km.
Last week the clutch started making a making a squeeky sound and was a bit hard. I reported this to the Umhlanga branch on 19 March 2020 and i was given a booking for 23 March 2020.When i drove home the clutch once again ceased and would not go in. The car was undrivable. The mileage is 54822km. Thankfully this happened as I entered my driveway and not on the road. It's shocking that the original clutch packed up so quickly and that the replacement also packed up in less than 6000kms.
I have driven a few second hand vehicles such as Toyota, Nissan and Honda and I have never experienced this kind of problem. Even if they replace the clutch system, as the parts are still under warranty, I will still have to pay for labour.
I am due for an upgrade soon but there is no way that I will upgrade to another Hyundai. What a hopeless product.
I wonder how many others have had this problem with Hyundai clutches.
