FAILURE AND REFUSAL TO FIX CAR THAT BROKE WITHIN 24 HRS YET IT WAS FROM A SERVICE
Hyundai Port Elizabeth failed to provide my mother with an appropriate & satisfactory car service resulting in the breakdown of her car. The car was taken to their Workshop on 01 October 2018. On arrival I explained that the car was making noise which was noted by Service Advisor, Riandi Els. She was called on the same day to collect the car, on arrival she was advised that the part called pencil coil could not be replaced on the day as it was not available. The Advisor indicated that the car could drive and that it would be discharged to her, she would later be called when pencil coil was available to bring car back for fitting/replacement. Although the car was driving but she still experienced the noise which I now believed was owed to the missing pencil coil. 2018OCT03: Car taken in for a service. 2018OCT08: Car taken in for pencil coil fitting. On the same day while travelling to Mthatha, before reaching her destination the car broke down. She immediately informed Hyundai PE & was advised to bring the car back to the Workshop. At this point she was over 400km thus the request was unreasonable. She then contacted Insurers (Dial-Direct) who towed it to the nearest Hyundai Workshop (East London). At this point she was informed by Hyundai EL that the reason for a breakdown is a result of Oil-pump failure which caused damage to the Engine. Car was towed back to PE while trying to resolve matter at her own cost. 2018NOV26: Hyundai PE called that she brings the car in, at this point she is of the opinion that they will be fixing the car so again arrange for the car to be towed to their workshop at her cost, but surprisingly she was again provided with a quote.
