Disillusioned by Hyundai

I was one of the proud owners of the first beautiful new shaped Elantra 1.8 GLS that were sold in South Africa late 2011. I absolutely loved my car and was a proud Hyundai owner. That is until I decided to sell the car recently. It was confirmed by 3 separate dealers (2 of them Hyundai agencies) that my car underwent extensive panel beating and repainting (involving several panels) before it was sold to me as brand new. Apart from the fact that this is totally unacceptable, it decreased the resale value of my car considerably. The paint color differences could not be seen while the car was still new and because we knew that the car was never involved in any accidents in the 8 years that I had it, it is not something that we noticed until it was pointed out to us. We trusted the product that we bought from Hyundai. It probably also explains a lot of the mechanical problems that I experienced with my car. I am totally disillusioned by Hyundai and will never buy from them again.
