************** by the service provider
Good day!
I had a very bad experience with a service advisor by the name of Riaan Bornman in Hyndai East Rand.
Actually I was heart broken of the treatment he gave me because of the colour of my skin.I can't believe ****** still exist in huge companies like Hyndai.
I have been a client in that branch since 2015 and the way I so love Hyundai I bought my second vehicle with Hyndai last year and I still use Hyndai East Rand because of the best service I used to receive at that branch.
Not after what happened yesterday.I doubt if I will ever take my vehicle there again.I rather take my vehicles far and be treated like human unlike being discriminated just because I'm but am African.
I believe we all pay the same money therefore the treatment should be the same irrespective of the colour of your skin.
On 2018-09-04 I took my vehicle Hyndai Elantra to Hyndai East Rand because my vehicle had a fault with reverse sensor, the side mirror buttons and the alarm was working but it would go off anytime even when the vehicle was not tempered with.
A white male by the name of Riaan Bornman attended to me as my consultant or my service advisor.
I left the vehicle to be checked and later he phoned me to inform me what was faulty on the vehicle and how much was I supposed to pay.
I then gave him a go ahead to fix whatever so that my vehicle can be in a good condition and I requested that I collect the vehicle the following day.
I then requested the quation for the battery as I am aware that it needs to be replaced then Riaan told me it was R1300 but I can go buy it from battery center since Hyndai buys their batteries there.
The agreement was reached that I can collect my vehicle the following day.On 2018-09-05 at about 09:00 I phoned Riaan and requested him to e-mail me the quotation for the vehicle repairs and the battery quotation separately.
Thanks to Riaan he only e-mailed the quote for the repairs but not for the battery.
On the very same day at about 15:00 my colleague Jacqueline and I proceeded to Hyndai East Rand to collect the vehicle. Upon arrival Riaan attended to me as my service advisor. He gave me a book containing my service book and a small manual.
He let me sign a document, gave a car key and sent me to the receptionist for payment.
I asked him about the quotation again he again told me I can go buy the battery at any battery centre cs they buy batteries there yet he doesn't know why do i need the quotation.
He further informed me that my vehicle was parked at the back that I must go fetch it and come back to tell him should I not see it.
Well I thought that's the new procedure that client should park vehicles at the door upon arrival but go look for them at the back of the yard upon collection.
I took my car key went to the receptionist and paid.I then asked the receptionist if she can print the battery quotation for me.The lady sent me to the parts department to request for it.
Indeed I went and requested it and I was given the printed battery quotation that I begged from Riaan but could not get.
At that time Riaan was sitting on his desk busy with the computer. My colleague and I went to the back of the yard and start looking for my vehicle.
Finally we found the vehicle parked and unfortunately it was blocked by the other vehicles which were washed.I then asked one of the ladies to please help me find anybody who can move the vehicle for me so that I can be able to drive out my vehicle.
Thanks to one of the ladies who washes the vehicle she can drive.I remember she was even wearing a green t shirt which I assume is the uniform of the employees washing vehicles at the back.
I then checked my vehicle if all that it came there for was fixed and only to find that the side mirror buttons are still not fixed.
I drove the vehicle and parked it next to the reception where we always park when we bring them for service.
I couldn't find Riaan on his desk and there was a white unknown client which was paying using a speed point.
Whilst I'm still waiting, there comes Riaan driving the unknown white client's vehicle. What a lucky man, he was fortunate that he didn't have to go find his vehicle from the back like me.
His vehicle was collected and brought to him at the reception simply because he is white. It gets worse the plastic was removed from the chair for him.I saw Riaan hand shaking him, thanking him to bring the vehicle at Hyndai East Rand and to please call again with a smile on his face.
Something I could not get from him jst because I am black. Then I asked myself is this the treatment black people get from Hyundai Eastrand?
If white people can get such a service then bravo I am definitely at the wrong branch.I must find myself a branch where I will be treated special like whites.
I was so heartbroken that I couldn't hold myself and had to ask him.I first informed him that the buttons are not working still as I couldn't adjust side mirrors.
Guess what was the answer I received from Riaan? He forgot to tell me that the buttons were not fixed as they were ordered therefore I must expect a call from one of the consultant as soon as the parts are delivered to them.He then ask me is my vehicle still under warranty?
Wooooooow u charge me a certain amount thereafter u ask me if my vehicle was under warranty?Wasn't that supposed to be checked from the beginning?
How will I know that the vehicle is still under warranty or not.I thought he would know better before he can charge me because the system informs him.
Anyway I wouldn't comment much on that because I'm not a service advisor and I don't work for Hyndai.I will jst pay whatever amount for my vehicle to be in a good condition.
Wooooooow another surprise, really Riaan? What if I took the vehicle and left without checking it.When will u tell me all this stories? What else are u not telling me?Anyway after what I saw I wasn't surprised anymore because I knew the treatment for black is not the same as for whites so that's why he forgot to inform me about the buttons.
I'm certain if I was white he would have remembered.I then asked him why did he sent me to go fetch my vehicle yet he collected that white guys vehicle. He responded, if that guys vehicle came a day before like mine, he would have sent him to fetch it therefore he collected it for him because it came the same day and they just finish washing it.
Mind u when I came Riaan acted busy on the computer and gave me instructions but for the white guy he left everything and went all out for him.
Wooooooow what a service offered to white people.Oh how I so wish I was white so I can get the same treatment Riaaan offers them.
Honestly speaking currently I wouldn't advice any African to take their vehicles to Hyndai East Rand especially if they will be attended to by Riaan Bornman.Only my white friends can go because I'm sure they will get the best service ever.
To think that I am a very a loyal client of Hyndai East Rand,i still wanted to buy the battery with them even though I was sent to a less expensive company.
I have been a client for almost three years so it really pains me that I must start seeking for a branch which won't leave me with so much ****** trauma.
I'm am shocked by the service I received yesterday and I personally think it's pure **************.
