De*****ed by Hyndai Employee
I am extremely disgruntled by Hyndai Durban, and more especially their customer service as well as their sales process, not forgetting their absolute lack of accountability, empathy and most importantly the manner in dealing with a ***** case(by their salesman) who de*****ed me of my hard earned money. After seeing an ad online I called Hyndai Durban 2 months ago and spoke to a car salesman named Meshack, I enquired about a Hyndai IX35 and was happy with the monthly payments(however I didn't have the deposit upfront) he advised me that Hyndai has payment arrangements and could accommodate me and also asked me to send through my bank statements for the last 3 months and a copy of my ID (over WhatsApp) - apparently using some bull**** story about Inflation and cost of living is high- and all people are finding it hard (he made me feel like he really understood that I didn't have the money upfront) and this is the way Hyndai accomdates most of their clients, I felt accepted and although I didn't have the complete deposit upfront he assured me it was ok and even after telling him I work nightshift I have two little kids that I go home to and cannot make it to come to their office during normal business hours he then asked me what's my working times so he could come out to show me the catalogue and discuss payment arrangements at my workplace I didn't mind as it was convenient for me. After my meeting with him he asked me questions about my living expenses etc and my affordability monthly for the vehicle I was over the moon that Hyndai really went the extra mile for a client and didn't have a problem doing the first payment towards my deposit(which I agreed paying a total of 10k) over 3 months at which point my 1st payment was made (he said me to do an ewallet to his company cellphone number) and all payments are done that way for clients that they come out to I never suspected a thing cos I called Hyndai Durban landline number and spoke to Meshack , initially, and he came with a branded Hyndai vehicle plastered with Hyndai stickers as well as a Blue Hyndai uniform. I managed to pay my deposit over 2 months and called him again to find out the next step he kept stalling me to which I became suspicious and after calling into Hyndai they said that he no longer works there myself and my husband liased and spoke to Shantal Murugan (accounts manager) she advised her manager is not there and will phone him and get back to me, I waited till Monday afternoon only to be transfered to the branch Manager Stuart who was absolutely no help at all and explicitly said to us that we need to open up a case at SAPS against Meshack and his reasoning behind that is that we paid the money to a "private entity" and didn't even use emotional intelligence or empathy at all and continuously said to us that "he gave us a chance to talk" now we must listen to him I felt bul**** and dictated to but more importantly he didn't want to understand that we called into Hyndai (it's not a private entity) he came to me with a company car and uniform and represented Hyndai. He just kept on using the word private entity like we going to get intimidated by his repetition of that word. Is this how a corporate Giant like Hyndai treats a client, is this they expert conflict resolution for a ***** case from their employee. I have the paper trail of payments made to him and the video footage of him coming to me with an Hyndai vehicle.I will be approching the Motor Industry Ombudsman because this goes against the NCA, CPA , TCF and a million other laws but most importantly they never listened to us. I will be awaiting for 24 hours for a response from Hyndai before plastering this all over social media and contacting my local newspaper
