Because of Hyundai I nearly went to jail

So, I bought a car from a Port Elizabeth Hyundai dealership in 2017 and after like a week I was shocked to find a fine on my windscreen. Turns out the license disk was expired. Trying to renew my license I was told that the car needed to go through roadworthy first. I contacted the dealership to find out how a newly purchased cars license expired and roadworthy was not done? Hyundai ended up doing the roadworthy and because it was their responsibility to provide me with an updated license disk the dealer, I dealt with, ended up taking the fine stating that Hyundai will take care of the payment. To my surprise, now in the year 2019, I received a summons for that particular fine. Turns out Hyundai never paid the fine. I called the dealer and now apparently the Port Elizabeth branch has changed hands and the current owners are no longer responsible for what happened in 2017. I am so furious that because of this I might have ended up with a ******** record and now Hyundai is not even taking ownership of the mistake and rectifying it.
