Bad Service, poor quality
I am severely disappointing in Hyundai, and in particular hyundai umhlanga. At the end of November 2017 I purchased a hyundai ********** model from Kia (opposite Hyundai Umhlanga) ahortly after I noticed a few issues with the car, it took a couple of weeks but I finally got Kia to organise for Hyundai to have a look at it, this was mid December, Problems mentioned were breaks not working optimally, fan belt squeeling and problems with gear selection. Upon the car going in I was told they couldn't find the issue with the fan belt and that the breaks were fine, and a problem selecting gears I was informed that the clutch plates or something needed to be replaced. subsequently I had to take my car back to Hyundai a week later for the repairs, My car was then in for repairs for almost a week when I was told two days. My car went in for a 45000km service on the 13 March barely 3 months after initially being taken to Hyundai initially. I noted issues with the clutch selection still, and the fan belt now making a , for lack of a better word, purring noise. I was called and told my breaks had 20% and needed replacing (This makes me angry as there i no way in 3 months when for nearly a month I was on leave and barely drove anywhere and therefore the breaks were not ok when the car went in, in december adn as such I had to pay for the replacement as opposed to Kia who sold me the vehicle) But there was nothign I could do so I paid for the breaks. I was told again they could not find an issue with the fan belt and it is subsequently STILL either squeeling or purring often but not consistently (now if there is an issue I will have to pay as opposed to Kia who should have paid as the problem was there when it was sent in on Kia request.) The gear selection is still problematic and I was told they had done an upgrade and that may have been the issue. (Do you really work on maybe's? Once again although there were repairs and replacements to the clutch, the problem is still persisting and again should there need to be repairs I will have to foot the bill even though it should have been donw and paid for by Kia back in december
I am not made of money and CANNOT afford extra expenses on my vehicle which is practically brand new with only 45000km on the clock.
My Mother hasd been driving Hyundai since 1995 or 1996 or so and has never deviated I too had a very old model 2001 Hyundai which i bought in about 2007 that even though I never could afford to service back then I never felt unsafe or had any major issues. My moms current I10 grand has had constant issues with locking and alarm functionality and has been in at least 3 times for the same or similar issues. so I am disappointed in the quality is it just I10 that are poorly made and have constant issues??
I am unsatisfied with Hyundai as a whole and incredibly irritated with Hyundai Umhlanga service centre and their service and ability to do the jobs and assess problems and fix them the first time.
I can assure you that I cannot afford to fix the issues in this Vehicle but without a vast improvement in service and vehicles as a whole I am unlikely to ever purchase a Hyundai again, which is truly sad because I have always loved and felt safe in a Hyundai and I no longer do I keep waiting for something more to go wrong.
