BAD SERVICE
Hi Community, I need some insight from everyone. On the 15th of August 2022, my Hyundai H1 went in to get its head gasket checkef hyundai airport I was then advised that the head and the gasket was the issue. Nearly 5 months later after the top end being the issue, and the turbo being repaired twice (which I paid to fix) then it’s the injectors and the manifold, AND NOW ITS THE BOTTOM END. If only they had done a compression test after the head was done, the vehicle would be ready 4 months ago but they didn't have a compression tester! If I didn’t know better, I would be dealing with a back yard mechanic. Actually, a back yard mechanic would sort the issue and I would have probably got better service. Im not sure what it is, but after 5 months, it still seems like my car is always in the back of the line and that the staff seem to keep me at the back as well. I am highly frustrated with @hyundaiAirport and Hyundai South Africa because no matter who I talk to, it’s one excuse after another. I’ve had meetings with them, I’ve called them, I’ve followed up as often as I can and still get half feedback. The DP - Shalen Rampearie, the workshop manager - Gavin Beattie and the service manager - Phillemon Mashaba have not come to the party. Ive been given timeframes which havent been met... ie 5 months for a head gasket. It is extremely disappointing because I used to hold the brand above everyone. 2 of my daughters, my parents and my siblings currently ride Hyundais because of how highly I used to rate them. I myself have had 3 Hyundais of which I currently still have 2 which have been serviced at Hyundai for many years. Over the festive period i requested a courtesy car for a week from Shalen so I could go away but this request was also not met. This is the time to change brands and start looking at something better. With the service that I received, I would look at almost any other brand. At this point I just want the car running so I can sell it and swap brands ASAP. It upsets me because for years myself and my family have been using Hyundai.
Please, any advice on how to get their attention and to get the issue addressed. Ive emailed Hellen Masango at head office requesting NIALL LYNCH to assist but no response there either. I’m sure a new Hyundai can be built in less time than my car has been there and as a business owner who relies heavily on my vehicle, both for work and home. I have lodged a claim with the MIO (Motor Industry Ombudsman), and im waiting response. Please share and spread the word so people are not stuck in the same position as I am and hopefully it gets their attention to get the issue sorted. Has anyone else had issues with Hyundai before?
