Bad service again at Hyundai The Glen
My name is Dineo and I did a car trade-in last year October at Hyundai The Glen. The sales person who assisted me was Brandon Pretorius. I got my car on Friday the 27th of October to be exact. On Sunday the 29th I Sent Brandon an email letting him know of a few concerns I picked up within the 2 days(the list was just endless)It was issues of the worn out tyres the sound that I picked up everytime I would slow down. The radio that was faulty and had to booked in 3 times. The Keys which still not fixed, The driver door which makes sounds everytime I open and also that just under the driving Wheel the compartment just opened and contributed to me being without my car again in order for this to be fixed.
Brandon did help me with getting new tyres and getting the radio fixed. However it took 3 attempts for the radio to be fully functional without it sinking in all the time. The issue of the compartment that just randomly opened was also fixed and I was without a car for that to be fixed. The issue of my keys is still not fixed, the noise on the door was fixed however still persists. Another thing that I picked up between Dec and Jan I called Malcolm to ask him about how often one needs to pour oil in a car and the answer I got was it depends On the car. The reason I asked was I was pouring petrol and the attendant told me there was not even a drop of oil and he had to pour 3 bottles(have the proof) my car wasn't even 2 months at the time and apparently underwent a service where all these were checked. I have had this car now almost four months and my word i have topped up oil if not once them twice a month and that to me is not normal. I am not a professional when it comes to cars and all but my past experience with my old car was I don't remember me having had bought oil so much and so regularly so.
My frustrations where and are still endless. I went to the dealer several times to let them know that I don't want this car anymore and that I want to cancel as I am not happy at all. I told them( Brandon and Malcom who is the Manager) that I use my car for work as I travel a lot and that I travel far, and that i can't afford to continuously be driving around a car which I am not comfortable with. Brandon told me that he will help me look for a car and that was the end of it as he resigned and left just a week after. I was now dealing directly with Malcolm, I told yet again that I want to cancel and told me that I need to go the bank if I want to cancel of which I did and the feedback I got from them was I can't cancel as long as the dealer states that they will help at or fix whatever issues I have or will occur in the future. I found that fair and let that go. I went back to state to them(dealer)since I cannot cancel them they must either give me back my old car and I will go else where to Trade in or they must give me another car. They have me stories for days as why that is not possible, Malcolm and the F and I lady looked at my profile and basically told me that it is expensive and hard for them to find me another car as it takes time etc. All this happened in the month of November we are now in mid Feb and they still looking for a car for me. What further frustrates me is that Malcolm the Manger doesn't call me back to provide with any feedback I haveto continuously call him and ask what's happening and the answer is always and I qoute: I am working on finding you a car I can't find you a car as yet it takes time and u have ur details on my board,i am on working on It." What I think they don't get is yes it is a trade in on a Preowned car but to me it is a new car and the last thing I want after having financed a car it is still a new car to me.
What hurts me the most is I am a fan of Hyundai and u have been a loyal and yet supportive customer especially The Glen branch, I bought my first car there I went for all my services to them and when I wanted to Trade in they were my first option,I no longer have love for the branch and brand after what I have been through for the past couple of months.
I need your help to make this tedious process a little bit more effective and fast my patience has run dry and I just can anymore.
