Bad service

My name is Dineo Charlie

On Wednesday the 3rd of May 2017 I took my car in for service at Hyundai I Centurion garage. After the service the plugs in the engine were faulty so I took it to Hyundai in Centurion on the 3rd of July 2017. My car stayed there for one day and the service consultant called me to say that my car service was completed and everything was fine. On the 5th of July 2017 while driving on a highway I had a grounding sound from the engine I immediately stopped to find out what the problem was. After careful observation, I discovered that the V-belt was tearing/fraying . I resolved that I take(towed) it back to Hyundai in Centurion garage for further diagnostic checks. As I presented the defected V-belt the consultant (Shaun) said that the V-belt will be replaced.

I left the car at the garage for the replacement of the V-belt and my car stayed there for one day. This situation has inconvenienced me as I was forced to find alternative mode of transport. It has incurred on unplanned transport money and threw me out of budget. As the situation could not have happened if the service of the car was done properly.

Upon my arrival at the garage I was told that my car was fixed and the V-belt was replaced then I drove and decided to check if the V-belt was replaced only to find out that the V-belt was not replaced and I noticed that the loose part that was making noise was cut off and the very same old V-belt was still on. I immediately drove back to the garage to find out why I was told that the V-belt was replaced while nothing was done on the car. I further inquired why this had happened; I was told by the consultant that the V-belt was not part of the service plan. I WAS SURPRISED THAT HE WAITED FOR A DAY TO TELL ME THAT, WHILE HE CONFIRMED THAT MY CAR WAS FIXED AND THE V-BELT WAS REPLACED.

While I sought for more explanation on this disturbing matter, the service consultant, Shaun, belittled me in the presence of Eugene. I demanded to speak to the manager he mentioned that the V-belt will need to be bought and 15% will be granted to me . I rejected the offer because I believe that the V-belt should be covered in the maintenance plan which I pay every month. So I resolved to speak to the dealer principal and Shaun refused to let me speak to him.

I called the maintenance department to confirm if the Centurion garage called for authorization, I found out that no calls were recorded from the garage. I decided to take my car to Hyundai garage in Zambezi today (10 July 2017) for the V-belt. The belt was replaced at no cost as I have maintenance plan.

Hyundai garage in Centurion spoilt my entire week as I trusted them so much. I am very much disappointed and wish to change to another brand soon if this is how they treat young ladies who know nothing about cars. For the time and trust I bestowed upon them and in a blink of an eye to inconvenience and risking my safety.
