Bad experiences!!!!
Below I will explain my experiences and my problem.
In April 2019 I went to the Woodmead branch and was assisted by Desmond with regards to purchasing my new vehicle which was an i10 Grand Demo model which had 8000km on the clock. I have a personal banker so only requested an OTP which could of taken 2 weeks to get correctly as the document wasn't correct according to my bank and needed to go back and forth with the branch as time was running. When someone comes and buys a vehicle he actually needs the vehicle as time is off the essence. I finally got the vehicle but on inspection I noticed a few things which was a concern to me as a customer one which was a chip on the fender 2 was the spare wheel(This was replaced as I collected my vehicle) and the wheel alignment which I noticed when I took the car for a test drive. I was promised that this will be sorted out the following wheel I agreed as I work opposite the dealership and this will be as no inconvenience to me as a customer. I then after week had to call to remind the dealership about this that needs to be done and finally got it done 2 weeks later a day before I left to Port Elizabeth where I am originally from as I was planning to go there on holiday. Unfortunately on my way to Port Elizabeth I was involved in an accident with a kudu and the car was written off by my insurance. I then continued my journey to Port Elizabeth and returned to Johannesburg 4 days later. When my insurance was contacted they had to do an inspection first, I got the results and they decided to write the car off. The options for them was to settle the bank or replace the vehicle based on if this was a new vehicle. When my insurance requested a settlement letter from the bank my banker advised that the payment from the dealership was not collected as yet keeping in mind this is 4 WEEKS LATER. This negligence from Hyundai Woodmead delayed this whole proceed for another week as the the bank did not have the Natis yet therefore they could not draw up a settlement letter for me which caused a delay in my claim which each extra day is more money out of my pocket as I am now using taxify
to get to work which is about 50km a day of travelling.
Finally I received a settlement letter from the bank and found out that If my insurance settles the bank I will still owe the bank R8000.00 shortfall. I then emailed Nicky which is the sales manager at the Woodmead Branch to please assist me on purchasing my second vehicle. I bought my first one for R167 000.00 I requested from her that If i refinance could I get a similar one which the dealership had when I visited there, exact same colour and specs for R167 000.00 - R 8000.00 so that I cannot be financially affected. The reason why I also requested this discount is because technically I am buying 2 vehicles in a space of 1 month 2 weeks which I feel is only fair taking into consideration my experiences I went through with Hyundai. I am in talks with my insurance with regards to rather replacing my vehicle they just awaiting authorization from management and they told me that they can purchase it from the same branch. I will only allow them to do that if my request is met.
I will not settle for less then 100% customer service from any retailer which I support. I will be awaiting response to this mail within 48 hours or I will escalate this to Hyundai Korea and ask them is this the type of service that was agreed on in South Africa. I am also considering on posting this email on social media because maybe there are many other customers that experienced the same or similar type of experience and they maybe not aware that customer service should be 100% all the time!!!!!!!
