Bad experience at Hyundai Plumstead

Went to Hyundai Diep River to purchase a vehicle and selected a 2nd hand Hyundai i10. 2 Was taken to the financial person who took all the necessary particulars and as it was a cash transaction the banking details for Hyundai Diep River were emailed to me.

Will never get a Hyundai, this has been a very stressful experience.

My son who lives in the UK was assisting with the purchase so forwarded the email from the financial person to him. I went to Standard Bank to make the payment and requested a proof of payment. Shortly after leaving the bank received a call from Standard Bank ***** Department and that the transaction that had just been conducted was for a private individual. I ask Standard Bank to block the payment. I notified my son that the account was *****ulent.

Standard Bank ***** advised that I confirm the banking details with another person in Hyundai, received a call from a bookkeeping at Hyundai Regional. Forwarded the original email (which had been flagged) to the bookkeeping and received the reply stating “that number is correct “.

On Saturday I went back to Hyundai Diep River and was assisted by Juan Jones who contacted Standard Bank *****, they told him that it was a personal account that the funds were due to be credited to. While I was with Juan showed him the email from Hyundai with the incorrect bank details ( the flagged email). Standard Bank ***** advised me to register a ***** Case with the police.. At the Plumstead Police Station the officer explained the procedure and ask what documentation I had, opened my email and the flagged emails were not there. The ***** case was registered at Rondebosch Police station.

I notified my son in the UK h said to check my deleted items, the emails were not there. My son was able to recover the emails from my service provider. My son bank was able to recover most of his funds and my were returned to my account. Wrote to the CEO of Hyundai and forwarded my Affidavit. Received an email from the Regional Office, they requested the original office and said it would be forwarded to their IT department. There has been nothing further. A friend to mine went to Hyundai Diep River to see if there was to be any further action, he was advised that using the incorrect banking details was my fault.
