An unforgettable experience at Hyundai Pinetown as a first time buyer.

<p>To everyone who was involved in this, I must say I am thoroughly disappointed in not just the service but also the miscommunication between everyone working at Hyundai Pinetown.</p> <p>Luan approached me about the demo model i20 1.2 motion on sale. He gave me an offer of R200 000 inclusive of on the road costs and everything that the car was equipped with (e.g. smash and grab, park assist, tinted windows, towbar). After seeing the car and hearing the offer, I was happy with it since the car was priced at R204,900.</p> <p>Unfortunately after going to the finance manager, Strini, the deal wasn't exactly how it appeared to be. Immediately he didn't seem to fully accept the offer of R200 000 and continually asked if Luan had first confirmed this price or not.<br />He then told me they would use the R20 000 trade assist and my deposit of R10 000, and finance for R200 000. Which didn't quite make sense to me. The price of the car would now be R230 000, looking at the deal Strini was offering. This would make this demo car even higher than a brand new car at R224,900.<br />After coming home from the dealership, Strini eventually called me back and said he would email a quote for that car.</p> <p>Chantal, the manager at Hyundai Pinetown called me later that evening and upon asking about the deal of the demo, she said she cant give a deal because it hadn't depreciated enough.</p> <p>So this morning I get a quote, Strini sent me an OTP, which had nothing to do with the car I had in mind. He said the demo was too new for the demo plan. Let me not even get started on what I saw on that OTP. The purchase price had changed to R176 000! and after adding a delivery cost, (which I don't even know what that is) and smash and grab, it ended up being close to R196 000. So they want to sell me a brand new car for R196 000 and won't sell me a demo for R200 000? No on the road costs was included, nor anything they said they would included. If I could attach the OTP, I would! </p> <p>So a brand new car was retailing at R224,900 and if you bring it all the way down to R176,000? That tells me they can do anything with the pricing but for whatever reason refuse to sell me the car they originally showed me.</p> <p>Why would Hyundai Pinetown offer me a car that I cannot purchase?<br />I can't believe the lack of communication between the staff there. Luan gives me an offer and then I cant have that exact offer, the manager and the finance manager can't give me that offer either? Are the staff not properly trained about demo cars compared to brand news? Or are you trying to entice customers with that price showcased outside the dealership for passers by to see?<br />A word advice, if the car is meant to be sold for a certain price, please don't advertise it for lower than what you expect customers to pay. It is unfair and dishonest business. By falsely advertising, all you do is enrage customers like myself. <br />As someone looking for her first car purchase, I did not expect to go through all this trouble. It makes this experience not worth it at all, and I am not impressed at all with Hyundai Pinetown. I had heard a lot of terrible things about this Pinetown branch but I still thought I should give you guys the benefit of the doubt, but this was not what I expected at all. You have lived up to the reputation I heard all about.</p> <p>What was supposed to be an easy and enjoyable experience has just been ruined.<br />I am so put off buying a car right now or the brand Hyundai itself and I definitely will not be referring Hyundai Pinetown to anyone looking for a new or used car.</p> <p> </p> <p>Just to add, I went to Hyundai Sherwood as well. Surprisingly the saleman explained that the i20 does not come with an alarm. Looking at the brochure on the NATIONAL website, an alarm is standard with all the i20 models.</p> <p>Why is it that I have to negotiate to add an alarm when it should be coming standard with the car?</p> <p>Is Hyundai trying to falsely advertise for a car that does not carry the features it demonstrates in black and white? </p>
