Bad service received - Empty Promises - Inconvenienced
I have been experiencing issues with my car’s paintwork since I purchased it in 2020—a white Hyundai i20. Every year, I’ve had to bring my vehicle in because a new panel starts peeling. This is a major concern and in my opinion an even greater inconvenience for all Hyundai owners facing this issue. It is clearly a factory fault, as I frequently see Hyundais on the road with peeling paint. It’s truly disheartening to think that people spend their hard-earned money on a brand-new vehicle, only for it to deteriorate like this. The quality representation of these cars are very disappointing.
Each time I brought my car in for repairs, the waiting period was 1–2 weeks. Not once was I offered compensation for travel expenses to and from work. The entire process was never smooth, especially when dealing with their not very professional Warranty Clerk, Tyler. There was never an apologetic response regarding the state of my vehicle, nor was there any effort to offer a courtesy car despite the significant inconvenience. It was promised to me that my vehicle will take 2 days only to find out it's been there for a week and it was not even booked in.
It’s incredibly disappointing to witness such poor service in Cape Town. This branch, and Hyundai’s aftercare service in general, lacks empathy, consideration, and commitment. As loyal Hyundai drivers, we should not have to endure such treatment.
That being said, I’ll be purchasing my brand-new Ford from the dealership next door. My mother speaks highly of their service and turnaround time, and I trust I will receive the care and service I deserve. Sorry, Hyundai—you’ve lost a very loyal customer today.
