Dissatisfied with Hyundai’s Handling of My Vehicle Complaint

I am extremely dissatisfied with the way my electrical fault complaint regarding my 2024 Hyundai Grand i10 is being handled.

The vehicle was driving normally on Saturday, 22 August. On Sunday, 23 August, I found the vehicle completely dead with no electrical power. I contacted Roadside Assistance, and an AA technician attended and attempted to boost the vehicle. The car was subsequently towed to Amanzimtoti Hyundai for diagnosis.

I was later informed that the main fuse had blown and that I would be responsible for the repair and towing costs because Hyundai believes the fuse was damaged during an incorrect jump-start. I have challenged this conclusion because the vehicle was already completely dead before the AA technician arrived.

I have raised my dissatisfaction with the service department and have also tried repeatedly to contact the Dealer Principal at Amanzimtoti Hyundai by email and telephone, but I have received no response.

I have also escalated the matter to Hyundai South Africa Customer Care. Although they have taken my complaint and provided feedback, I am still not satisfied with the outcome and feel that my concerns and the sequence of events have not been properly addressed.

I have requested the diagnostic evidence supporting Hyundai’s conclusion, particularly evidence that the AA boost caused the main fuse to blow, but I am still not getting a satisfactory resolution.

I am not refusing responsibility for any fault that can be proven to have been caused by me. I am simply asking Hyundai to provide clear technical evidence and properly investigate the root cause before holding me responsible for the repair and towing costs.

I purchased this vehicle in July 2024 and expected much better support from Hyundai when dealing with a serious electrical failure.

I am asking Hyundai South Africa to urgently intervene, properly review the matter, provide the diagnostic evidence, and resolve this complaint fairly.
