POOR QUALITY
last year June I purchased a pair of shoes on sale for R500. and the original price was R1700. the impression I got was since the shoes were a Guinean leather and they are of good quality to last longer. also I bought them for winter purpose I only won them for a short period and put them away so I can wear them again this year. to my surprise this year when I start wear them the right one started to get loose on the top I thought maybe it string were loose but when I tried to check how the string got loose I found that the shoes is actually broken and I went to the shop where I bought them they store manager took them and told me that he will send them to their head office and gave me a slip and he hear from them whether they will fix or refund for he saw the way they were. the general manager came same day for her rounds after I left and they showed her the shoes. she phoned me that the shoes guarantee is only six months and I brought them in 8eight months my concern again is the quality for when I spend so much my aim was for them to last me longer for it is not the first time I buy shoes from them and all others are still fine for they leathers

When the Consumer Protection Act was passed, we tried to introduce some leverage in our stores. Sadly, this flexibility was grossly abused and it cost the company hundreds of thousands of Rands. As such, we were forced to change the policy to adhere to the CPA and will refund, repair of replace any product sold within a six month period from date of purchase if the fault is workmanship related.
2. Sale items are sold on a no return, no exchange, no refund basis notwithstanding the CPA which overrides same.
In order to address your claim, we consider the above.
At this juncture, we note that the shoes are nearly one year old and while we appreciate that you may have worn them only a few times, the policy is six months from date of purchase.
Despite this we cannot and do not guarantee how long a shoe/boot/sandal will last due to concerns like how often they are worn and in what environment.
While we can try assist in repair at your expense, we cannot refund your claim as the return was TEN months after purchase.
We await your response and remain at your disposal.
Sincerely,
Laurence
