Hush puppies was a great brand with a great story line but now its run by seemingly poor ,management styles, poor policies and absolutely **** products.

So After looking at Hellopeter today, I have again learnt an expensive lesson. Last year I bought myself a pair of Hush Puppies from the store in Menlyn Park Shopping Centre. I Was charged R850 for the pair. Within a few weeks after the purchase, I was wearing the shoes whilst meeting a customer in Pretoria, when the heel fell off the one shoe. My customer and I had a little giggle and he offered to go and get me some glue and while we met I repaired my shoe. Some days later the other heel broke loose as well. Unhappy with the situation I returned to the store and was advised that they DO NOT do Credit returns, and that the complaint would be sent to their Head Office. A few days later I returned to the store, as I had not heard from them as promised, but still NO response to my claim. I returned a few days later again to be advised that they would replace them and that I should NOT take the same shoe as I had bought as they were problematic. I was advised to take another style as this new style was less prone to losing heels. I did so, at their recommendation. The lady advised that if it happened again I was to bring them back. Well, low and Behold, I have worn them beyond the guarantee and also because of Covid I have probably worn them far less in the last few months, but again the shoes started to come loose at the heel. I returned to Menlyn to be told that they remember me and that they would motivate for Head Office to replace them as this was now the second pair. This morning I received a call from their Head Office to advise me that it was No longer their problem as the shoes had sadly surpassed the guarantee period and it was my loss and not theirs. I then decided to look on Hellopeter to find that my claim resonates with many and that this is a common problem with both their policies and their poor quality shoes. I am Head of sales for a large international company and I would be absolutely disgusted if my staff even approached me to replace a poorly manufactured product, More so, when you know full well that its is fact a floor in your products. I would make sure my customers got a much better value out of their experience, as that's what makes them come back. They refuse to give your money back because they make **** products and they know it, then convince you to buy something that may last a little longer only to get away with making it right, with you, who made the choice to spend your hard earned money on their products. I will make it my mission to post this on social media and will now take the matter to Carte Blanche, only because there are many of us that have been taken for the same ride. The only ones who lose here are the consumers. Poor Show guys. I am not afraid to open this can of worms. Its a disgrace. Hush puppies was a great brand, started in 1958 and is now 62 years old, with a great story line but now its run by seemingly poor management styles, poor policies and absolutely **** products. Sad when things you grew up knowing as good, get so bad, that consumers have to pay the price for their inefficiencies. I sympathize with all the fellow consumers who have had to endure the same effects of their purchases. I guess the lesson is next time we buy products do your homework. That's our lesson for this day. With Hush Puppies the customer DOES NOT COME FIRST!!!!!!
