Arrogant staff

<p>I recently purchased a pair of hush puppies sandals from the Woodmead Outlet store. What a mistake! I'll never walk into one of their stores again. </p> <p>I took the sandals home on a Friday only to find that my wife had bought me a pair of Jeep sandals as well. I wore tried on both pairs for not more than 10 minutes each inside my house, and decided that the Jeep pair was better suited to my feet.</p> <p>i then returned the Hush puppies on Tuesday (4 days after purchase) only to be treated horribly by the staff at Woodmead. I was prepared to swop for shoes but they didn't have any size 8s in the 6 or 7 styles that I liked. I asked for a credit note to spend at hush puppies when they had stock of my size, but the sals ladies started inspecting the sandals and told me that I had damaged them. They found imperfections in the rubber (which I understand to be a natural phenomenon) and insisted that I had scuffed the shoe. When I told them that the sandals were purchased in that condition they asked me how I accepted the sandal in such a state , and that it would not be acceptable to sell to another consumer. they basically kept implying that it was my fault that I bought shoes in bad condition and that I must have damaged them. I then pulled the same sandal off the shelf and it was in exactly the same condition as the one I had purchased. They then proceeded to apply for the credit note, but still insisted that it was my fault for buying a sandal in shoddy condition, to which I rep**** that they were at fault for selling sub standard merchandise.</p> <p>Once again, being a chemical engineer, I understand the imperfections that arise in the use of natural products but Hush Puppies stuff are utterly clueless, and needlessly blame customers for damage that simply didn't occur. </p> <p>Hush puppies, I have owned a number of shoes from you but will no longer support such an arrogant brand. Green cross, Salomon, Jeep, Timberland (the list is endless) sell superior products with much more dedication to customer service. I suggest you visit one of this stores and take notes. I was willing to spend over R1500 on a shoe from you, but I'd rather take your credit note and shred it to pieces in your shop - your arrogant, untrained staff have ensured that you will have passing trade but no return business. </p> <p>Judging by your perennially poor score on hellopeter, you clearly will do nothing about this, so good luck and good bye!</p> <p> </p>
