Salomon Trail shoes - Bad quality and customer service

My husband purchased a pair of Salomon Outrise Trail shoes in April 2023. They have started ripping at the tops of both shoes. We took them back to Sportsmans Warehouse, who told us that Salomon have to review and advise. They came back and said that they wont honour the warranty as its due to "scuffing". How can a person possibly scuff the top of the shoes, especially on both of them...so much for their warranty and customer service!!
