Unprofessional and Harassing Conduct by HP Attorneys

I recently had a highly unpleasant experience with HP Attorneys that left me frustrated and appalled by their lack of professionalism. I received a call from +***1, and the individual on the line was both rude and hostile.

The caller, who could not even pronounce the name of the person they wanted to speak to, refused to identify herself when I asked—a right I believe I am entitled to as per South African consumer protection laws. Instead, she became aggressive, shouting at me, which forced me to terminate the call.

When I called back to lodge a complaint, the first call was abruptly disconnected. On my second attempt, I reached someone who sounded suspiciously like the original caller but was suddenly polite and friendly, adding to my confusion.

What shocked me further was their request for my ID number. I have no prior dealings with HP Attorneys, and this request seemed completely unjustified. Why ask for sensitive personal information if I have no relationship with this company?

I also contacted their head office, as per the number provided by a local branch, and spoke to Rashida. She flatly denied that they had a branch in Springbok and suggested it could not have been their firm. This lack of accountability and transparency is unacceptable.

HP Attorneys’ behavior has been unprofessional, harassing, and deeply concerning. I urge them to take accountability, train their staff in proper communication, and adhere to basic legal and ethical standards.
