HotelStay: Lying to make the sale

I am really upset with my HotelStay experience and feel like I’ve been conned into buying this membership.

1. I’m told that, in order for me to get the discount, I have to book through HotelStay. This is not what I was told during the initial sales pitch. I was told that I would get the discount on the best available rate. I specifically asked if this would include the rates I would be able to get from sites like Trivago, Hotels.com, etc. I was told that this is the case. This led me to believe that all I had to do is to present my HotelStay Card at the participating Hotel and I would then be eligible for the HotelStay discount. The only exception was with restaurants where I would have to send you a copy of the bill.

2. It also seems that the number of participating hotels is very limited.

3. Your agents are not able to provide me with available accommodation immediately. I now have to wait until they call me back, which is during the course of the day. I have no patience for this, because I can book online using a number of online options.

4. The HotelStay website is pathetic and nothing seems to work. The website login functionality is erratic … Works in some places and does not work in others. The website navigation is also problematic.

5. I requested you cancel my membership and to provide a full refund. I was told that a 10% penalty applies plus the number of days I had my membership. This is completely unacceptable as I have not benefited in any way from my HotelStay membership and to calculate from time of membership does not make sense at all, especially considering the fact that I had to wait for my membership card and struggled to get access to your website. I want a full refund of what I paid, because you misrepresented yourselves. As indicated, I was **** to and will therefore not accept anything less than what I paid. If you had told me the truth in the beginning, I would not have taken out this membership, because I can get better rates than you can offer.
