HotelStay cold-calling lies - Careful!

I received a call from this sly caller from HotelStay at 11h25 today (24 June 2017) saying that they are "affiliated" with Protea Hotels and their new card is "replacing" the Prokard with "better" benefits and rewards.

I recently booked with Protea Hotels and they told me that their prokard and its benefits still stand and that I would be receiving a new Marriot branded rewards card after Marriot bought them, so was confused by this claim.

He didnt have any of my details, so was obviously calling from a database list of cellnumbers. After asking for my credit card details, to process payment I asked this slick talker about where HotelStay fits in with Protea Hotels (cos my Prokard only expires next year), and he kept repeating his "affiliated" and "replacing" and "better benefits" scripted tag-line. I asked him again and again, and he just gave me the same answer. After he realised that I am onto the fact that they are not actually "replacing" anything, but that they are just another holiday rewards company looking to make sales, he abruptly ended the call and hung up in my ear.

Don't be fooled by these under-handed tactics.

I read earlier reviews about them debiting money off people's accounts without permission, and not refunding money when incorrectly *****ing money.
Do NOT give your credit card information or bank details over to them, especially over the phone.
