Host Agents are not very trustworthy

We had booked an online accommodation through Host Agents for a house in Langebaan. The booking was done in December 2023, for accommodation in May 2024. We had 2 friends travelling from the UK, really looking forward to the jacuzzi.... Upon arrival we were told that the jacuzzi does not work, nor does that gas fire place, which was clearly advertised online. Very disappointing. We had to repeatedly contact Host Agents to confirm our arrival time, and request an invoice for our balance of payment. Once we received the invoice, there was a R5000 breakable deposit added to the balance that we owed. We paid this +- 2 weeks before we arrived at the accommodation. When leaving the accommodation, we checked and ensured that everything was left clean and spotless, we were even complicated by the agent on how clean the house was. We did this to ensure that we would receive our R 5000 breakable deposit refunded as soon as possible. It has now been over 4 weeks, and we have still not received the R 5000 refunded to us. We now have to lay a case of ***** in order to try and claim this refund.

Please do not trust Host Agents, they do not seem to pay your refundable deposits back.
