HONCHOS- BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

Had a bad experience at Honchos in Verulam today. Food is normally great, staff not so much. Was told the previous time that they close at 6.30pm. Arrived at 6.12pm to place the order, but had to make a call. Place was very noisy(staff), so had to step out. As I tried to get in, I found that the gate had been closed behind me. I was then told by a staff member that they were closed. I was flabbergasted and didn't believe what was happening. Here were these people who wanted to go home early, so they were chasing away customers. Luckily another customer was leaving, so the security guard had the open the gate. I had to then "sneak in" to buy supper. I was met by very upset staff members and one of them said that they are closed. If looks could kill, I would have been dead. I told her that the time was now 6.15pm and I know that they close at 6.30pm. All this time another staff member who seemed to be a manager/supervisor, stood by silently cashing up. Without taking her eye of the printout, she solemnly said,"What is your order". I had two minds about placing the order, but eventually did. The food was different this time. The extra hot burgers tasted like triple extra hot and the chicken schwarmas tasted like it was about to go off. Can't shake this feeling that those ladies, wanted to get back at me for arguing with them and not allowing them to leave early. I don't think they understand the value of there job and the importance of good customer service. With our current unemployment rate sitting at 35.3%, these ladies should be try to bring down this rate, not increase it.
