Milex Juicer with Defective Cover - Replaced 3 times in 24 months
Subject: Recurring Failure of Milex Juicer Component – Defective Product Line
I am writing to log a formal complaint regarding the recurring failure of a critical component on my Milex Juicer. Despite standard, residential use, the top plastic cover of this unit has failed and required replacement three times within a 24-month period:
First Replacement: 01-04-2025 Second Replacement: 10-03-2026 Third Replacement: 06-10-2026
This pattern of repeated failure indicates a fundamental design or material defect rather than normal wear and tear.
The Support Experience:
When I initially raised this as a formal complaint on 06-10-2026, Homemark support dismissed the issue, stating the unit was out of warranty and that accessories were not covered. After I escalated the matter, citing my rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act (Sections 55 and 56) regarding goods that must be durable and fit for purpose, the company agreed to an inspection.
Current Status:
The failed component was collected by Homemark on 12-10-2026 for assessment. On 20-10-2026, Homemark reported that their initial assessment identified no direct defect on the cover itself, and they have now suggested that the complete unit needs to be assessed for potential misalignment or pressure issues. I am seeking a permanent resolution—either an upgraded, durable component or a replacement unit of equivalent value—as replacing this part every few months is not a viable long-term solution for a premium kitchen appliance.
The model number of this juicer is: ***.
