Homemark
Good day
Hope this finds you well
. Mr Promise, the driver was sent out last week to purchase a dryer. He went to your East Rand Mall Home mark branch. He was given a budget of R2000 He called her from the store: he was told by the salesman that he can purchase 2 dryers for the price of R2000.
Please note no mention was made of a no refund policy. This is an alleged violation of the consumer act. The driver was told to transect on the purchase of 2, because if I was unhappy with the product, I could always exchange it.
Had a mention been made of a 'No Exchange' policy, my representee would not have made the purchase on an item without a guarantee.
The dryer was opened and 4 hours into use, the clothing was not dry. Hence this product does not work for intended purpose of purchase.
He was sent back to the East Rand Mall to get a refund. He called to report that the Home mark manager responded that we would have to take an item in equal value as they are unable to give a refund or a voucher.
This seems very ********* against consumer rights, especially by a company as renound in establishing their company brand as is such with Homemark.
I would like to point out that Takealot has the same product. I would have had no issue receiving a refund from them.
The most apalling part of this however is the East Rand Mall Homemark manager. The behavior was beyond deplorable. Rude abnoxious behavior, and insisting that she will ensure I will recieve no such refund. Going as far as to say she will reach out to company head quarters and ensure such an outcome.
Is this the customer service we can expect from such a Professional company such as Homemark?
As a consumer we would like to purchase and support a company that looks out for consumer satisfatction and is not a gamble on a purchase.
I would further like to enquire if commission was made by the salesman? Is that perhaps the reason behind such adamant and Rude behavior?
