Homemark Afrizon ****

I received an Afrizon gift card from Homemark when I returned one of their products. I wasted my airtime trying to activate the card by means of the '011' number on the card (for activations), with no success. I got someone to assist when I called the '086' number on the card, and was told that the card will be active within 24 to 48 hours from that call time. That did not happen. I sent an e-mail to the address on the card (for activations), also with no success. I tried accessing the website noted on the card, but this web address seems to always have 'something wrong which they are fixing'. When I received the card I was advised that it has a two year validity. On the card it states that the validity is three years. I have had the card checked a few times at a Homemark store, where it still shows inactive (zero balance) and an expiration date of later this year, making the total duration of me having this card in my possession far less than one year. I would just like to get my refund, as it does not seem that this card will be activated before it expires.

Reviewer Update
Sadly I received no reply to this review or to any of the communications mentioned in this review. I went to the Canal walk branch on 10 May 2018 and explained this same story to Luke, who was on duty at that time. I also sent another follow-up e-mail (to the previously sent e-mails) to homemark. My complaint was finally addressed by Bridget, who assisted and resolved my issue - ensuring that my full refund was available on the Afrizon gift card, for me to use. She did take a few days to finalize it, as they did their necessary investigations - as the person that assisted when I returned the item was no longer employed at the company. Luke also called me back to ask if my issue was resolved, which at that stage it was. Even though this whole process should not be one that any customer must ever experience, I would like to thank Luke and especially Bridget for assisting.
