Serious Player Protection Concern After Extreme Bet Increase

I am raising serious concerns regarding player protection after a recent experience with HollywoodBets.

On 2 February, while playing Mustang Hold & Win, my usual bet of around R50 suddenly increased to R7,500 per spin, twice within the same session. This represents an extreme and highly uncharacteristic deviation from my normal betting behavior.

After reporting the incident, HollywoodBets confirmed that no technical malfunction occurred. However, they also stated in writing that their system does not generate alerts or impose safeguards when a player’s wager significantly deviates from their historical betting pattern.

This is deeply concerning from a responsible gambling perspective.

While I respect that the game may have functioned as designed, the absence of any behavioral monitoring or protective intervention raises important questions about customer safety.

I escalated the matter and requested senior review, yet the operator has advised that their decision is final and that no reimbur*****t will be considered.

As a customer, I am not suggesting the system failed, rather, I am questioning whether sufficient player-protection measures are in place when clearly abnormal wagering occurs.

I hope HollywoodBets will reconsider this matter and adopt a more customer-centric approach. Failing this, I am prepared to refer the case to the relevant provincial regulatory authority for independent review.
