R21,000 down the drain in 3 days,Something seriously needs to be investigated
I honestly wish I had read the reviews on HelloPeter before I ever started using Hollywoodbets.
I previously used Play.co.za and Betway. I understand exactly how gambling works. I understand that you can lose. I understand RTP does not mean you win every session. So please don’t respond with the standard “gambling involves risk” excuse.
I decided to try Hollywoodbets because I thought I would support a local South African company. What an absolutely terrible decision that has turned out to be.
My experience has been nothing short of shocking. The relentless losing, deposit after deposit disappearing, and virtually nothing ever building into an amount worth withdrawing has raised serious questions in my mind about what is going on.
And before anyone suggests I am simply complaining because I lost a bet: I have used other gambling platforms and I have never experienced anything remotely close to this level of consistently poor returns.
I have calculated my deposits for September alone. In just the first three days of the month, I have deposited approximately R21,000.
R21,000. In three days.
And what do I have to show for it? Nothing meaningful worth withdrawing.
That does not even include the money deposited during August.
After reading through the large number of reviews from other customers describing similar experiences, I find it increasingly difficult to simply dismiss this as bad luck. When so many people are raising the same concerns, surely someone should be asking serious questions.
Where is the transparency around RTP? How are these games independently audited? Who verifies that the advertised RTP is actually being delivered over an appropriate number of plays? What protection is there for customers when they believe something is seriously wrong?
Hollywoodbets may have perfectly legitimate explanations for these concerns—but if that is the case, then come forward with transparency instead of giving customers generic responses about responsible gambling and the risks involved.
At this point, I believe the relevant gambling authorities should be made aware of the volume and nature of these complaints. I am also considering contacting the relevant game providers, including Pragmatic Play where applicable, to ask what independent monitoring and investigation processes exist.
I am not asking to win every time. I am asking for transparency, accountability and a serious response to serious concerns.
Right now, based on my personal experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering depositing significant amounts of money to do their research first, read customer experiences carefully, and set very strict limits on what they are prepared to lose.
Hollywoodbets, I would like a proper, specific response to the concerns raised—not a copy-and-paste reply.
