Hollywoodbets Claims Intentional 150 x Bet Change on NEW Fast-Play Game Despite Clear UI Issues
I am posting this after exhausting all internal channels with Hollywoodbets, including speaking directly to a manager.
On 2 February at 02:11am, I won a big Grand jackpot while playing on bonus funds on 'Mustang Hold It and Spin It', a newly released game on the platform. I had been betting R50 per spin consistently, as I always do. I am a long-term, high-value player, wagering A LOT of rands every month, and I have never experienced anything like this before.
During the same session, my bet amount changed from R50 to R7,500 without my knowledge. This happened more than once. Hollywoodbets’ position is that because several spins occurred (approximately 7–9), the change must have been intentional.
This conclusion ignores how fast-play slot games, especially newly released ones, actually work.
Players focus on features and bonuses, not on the balance or total stake displayed at the bottom of the screen. Spins occur rapidly, and the game is designed to keep players engaged without interruption. With a new game, this makes proper testing, safeguards, and confirmation prompts even more critical.
After speaking to a manager, I personally tested how long it takes to increase a bet from R50 to R7,500. It is not quick, requires multiple deliberate actions, and is made even less likely by the UI layout, the bet and max-bet controls are positioned on the left, while the spin button is on the right and slightly higher. There is no realistic overlap that would allow accidental input.
A 150× bet increase is completely inconsistent with my betting history and behaviour. If this were intentional, I would not be raising this complaint.
What is most concerning is that no warnings, confirmations, or safeguards were triggered when such a drastic bet increase occurred, even while playing on bonus funds. Hollywoodbets benefits from fast-play design but places full responsibility on the player when something goes wrong.
Despite screenshots, explanations, direct testing, and a conversation with management, Hollywoodbets has refused to escalate the matter further, stating that “IT says it was intentional.”
I am sharing this publicly because I believe this issue has not been investigated fairly, and because other players should be aware of how these situations are handled, particularly on newly released games.
