Confused

I took a bet on a basketball match. My bet was for total over 130.5 for entire match. The total score was 147. When I took my bet for total over or under 130.5, there was only the total options and nothing else like including or excluding overtime in the entire section for total bets. My bet was regarded yesterday as a loosing bet, the sensible explanation to myself is that it is because match went to overtime. Yet I can not understand why it's a loosing bet if there wasn't any option to select available. The only section which had including or excluding overtime was if you selected a team and bet on either team total. But for the match total with both teams score combined, there was no overtime option. To me it meant that whatever happens, the total score at end of match will be valid. But it was not the case.
