Account Deactivated, R90 Deposit Withheld — Is This a ****?
I am going to say this plainly: based on my experience, I believe Hollywoodbets is operating a ****.
I deposited R90, and my account subsequently showed R9,000. This was not an amount I entered or created myself — it appeared on Hollywoodbets' own system. When I tried to withdraw, the platform only allowed me to request R48.00.
Then, instead of explaining what happened, Hollywoodbets simply made my account “no longer active.” I have been given no proper explanation, and my original R90 deposit is now effectively being withheld because my account has been closed.
That is deeply concerning.
If a company can accept customers' deposits, have its system display balances, and then simply deactivate accounts when something goes wrong — without providing a proper explanation or giving customers access to their funds — then I believe the matter needs to be investigated as a potential ****.
And consider the bigger picture: if this happens to hundreds or thousands of customers, with each person potentially losing R90, R100 or another small deposit when their account is suddenly closed, how much money could be involved? Small amounts multip**** across a large customer base can become a very substantial sum.
I am therefore calling on everyone who has experienced similar treatment from Hollywoodbets to report it to the National Gambling Board and request a full independent investigation and audit of Hollywoodbets' systems, account closures, customer balances, withdrawals and handling of deposited funds.
Hollywoodbets can call this a technical error if they want. But customers deserve to know why their money is being taken, why accounts are being deactivated, and why there is no meaningful explanation.
I believe what is happening amounts to a ****, and I believe it is time for the relevant authorities to investigate it properly.
Hollywoodbets — explain where my R90 went.
