Undue Transunion listing

I took over the payments of the premiums of a life policy that my grandmother took out in 2002. My mother was paying for it from about 2008 up until last year when she passed away in the Nigerian building collapse.

After my gran got a notification of lapse, I called Hollard Insurance and asked them to reinstate the policy. I payed all of the premiums in arrears to bring the policy up to date.

After I brought the account up to date, Hollard Insurance listed me on Transunion (credit bureau). This has resulted in a very important loan being declined.

Why would they list me on Transunion when I have never missed a premium? Since I took over the payments the policy has been up to date.

I hope they resolve this very quickly before I'm forced to approach the Credit Ombudsman and the Long Term Insurance Ombudsman and the National Consumer Commission!

Hello Xolani Hleza,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Our condolences on the loss of your mom.

Thank you for continuing the payment of this policy for your gran. As a requirement, we have to report your payment profile to the credit bureau. If it currently reflects as in arrears, we will assist you to have this matter rectified promptly.

Please accept my apology for the inconvenience this has caused.
