Retrenchment policy

I took out a retrenchment with Altrisk in July 2014. The terms of the policy stated that the policy becomes effective from day 1 and I can claim immediately. I took the policy out due to new management in place and the workplace was very unstable. I had worked for the company for 7 years. Subsequently, Hollard has taken over Altrisk.<br> Unfortunately I was retrenched at the end of September and was told that I could only claim if I was unemployed 1 month after retrenchment. I started claiming at the end of October and since then there has been numerous delays. The first being a document that my previous employer had to complete and then they wanted another document from them to be completed which was sent to Hollard on the 16th Feb. Now I receive a mail stating that they need an afidavit stating that I am still unemployed since beg of Nov in order to process the claim. <br> I have started a temporary position in Dec for 6 months and this might impact my claim. <br> I am a single mum and have bills to pay and can't be sitting around waiting for Hollard to pay. <br> <br> Please can you assist with this query. <br> <br> Thanks<br> <br> Kind Regard<br> Vimla Charmain
