No TCF - I am soooo shocked

I call Holland last month on the 15th of June to take out a new policy for my building & contents which cover was supposed to start on the 19th of June but after a few minutes I called them back requesting cancellation of that policy number ********** 373 because of the high excess. I received confirmation that policy is cancelled, than to my surprise yesterday they tried to debit my account of which the debit order was unsuccessful. I called their office today & I spoke to Nobuzwe Pikoli who told me that I am being charged for that one day cover thus I was debited even though I cancelled the policy a few minutes after & that I the client am responsible for the bank charges as the debit order was not successful. Now I would like to know who gave them permission to debit my account? As far as I know policy was cancelled from inception & why must now my itc be affected because of an unsuccessful debit order & why must I know pay the charges that the bank are going to charge my account? Please explain to me how is this treating customers fairly. I asked her over & over to explain & she said the same thing twice that me as the client is responsible to pay for those bank charges. I asked to speak to a manager & I was told that Mbali Dlamini is in a meeting. I am seriously shocked on how clients are treated is it because we don't know our rights? I really did not expect this from a huge company company like hollard.
