Hostage: funeral policy.
On 4 Feb 21 I sent a mail to Hollard citing my dispute with Edgar's a/c *** over-billed account. I referenced the funeral policy EFPP***P through Edgars and underwritten by Hollard, inception Dec 2017, and my intention to retain the policy. I further requested arrears due on the policy since my last Edgar's a/c payment was in Oct 20. I also requested bank details and reference for all future payments. On 12 Feb 21 I received a mail from IUA Business Solutions, the appointed administrators for financial service products linked to Edgar's/Jet accounts. They requested my ID no/Edgar's a/c no as they were unable to trace the policy. On 3 March 21 received a mail from IUA with a new policy no EDC*** and an updated policy schedule which they claim I requested. IUA further advised that the policy was active and premiums were billing through my Edgar's a/c. On 4 March 21 I mailed IUA advising that I requested Edgar's close my account on 24 Dec 20. I further requested they provide me with banking details and reference for Hollard for all future payments. I also advised that I would not sign the debit order mailed to me by IUA. 8 March 21 IUA responded that the debit order form needs to be completed if I wished to keep the funeral policy. They further advised that there is no banking details available for Hollard to make direct payments. All I want is to retain this funeral policy which I have been paying for since 2017. Instead I'm being frustrated and strung along by Edgar's and IUA knowing that the policy will terminate after 4 months of non-payment and all premiums paid since Dec 2017 would be lost. Instead the funeral policy is being held hostage by 2 intermediaries, one (IUA), I did not know even existed until this enquiry. NB: I never had to sign a debit order when I took out the policy in 2017. Why do I need to now.
