Hollard's cruel nightmare

My brother took out a policy with this company in 2017. He paid all his premiums fully and was always up to date. Our brother died on the 6th of November 2019. The whole family was shattered. With a lot of faith he claimed on the 8th of the above mentioned date. After waiting for the claim with no avail he contacted the company again on the 12th and he was told that the claim was going further assessment. This was very frustrating as we were expecting him to contribute towards the fast approaching funeral as there was only 2 bread winners. On the 14th he went to the Matatiele branch and he was told that the claim was still undergoing "forensic investigation" and they don't know how long it was going to take and they also don't know why the claim was being investigated. Saturday the 16th of November we proceeded with the funeral where he had to take a loan because he is a bread winner. Yesterday he called the head office and they said they would get back to him. This has been a very dark time for the family and this cruel company has contributed more darkness and frustration to the family.

I myself have recently taken out a policy with Hollard because of the great testimonies that I have heard but after this ordeal I am considering cancelling it and looking for another company. Funerals are a family's toughest time and having to deal with unreliable companies like this is the last thing I would need
