Hollard Life ****s me out of a Life policy I had since 2009 in 2023 although I paid a premium every monthall my monthly premiums
Hollard ****s older people out of their Life cover although premiums where paid every month since 2009. I took a policy on my life from Hollard in 2009. In 2015/2016 I wrote a email to them to instruct them to stop the yearly increase of the monthly premiums. Unfortuanately due to time lapse and a ****** computor at this stage I can not proof that I send this e-mail. Hoewever I paid my monthly premiums via eft as shown on the premium schedule that I will sent to the Insurance Ombudsman. What i did not realise is that I every month paid a bit short on the premium as I was under the impression the the premium increase was stopped. In October 2021 I e-mailed Hollard from my new E mail address to ask about who is the benificiary on the policy. They answered on my questions but did not advise me that I was in arrears with a small amount. They had my new email adress since then but never advised my on future dates that I am short paying on my premiums. I will send their email of October 2021 also to the Ombudsman as proof. In April this year I was going through my bankstatement and noticed that I might have skipped a premium in 2023. I then wrote an e-mail to Hollard and to my utter horror found that they have cancelled/lapsed my policy. I started corresponding with them and they said that they have notified me of intention to cancel. They could not proof this. Although they had my new address.I never recieved a notification. They just send me a email of notification to a Nico the agent who did the policy for me. He was not my agent since 2011 and I have no contact with him. I wrote to them to reinstate the policy and that I was prepared to pay the small, just over R3000 arrears amount. They informed me they do not reinstate a policy as policy if the insured is over 70. I was born on 12/11/2048. This shows no integrity. Thus it is clear. Since 2009 they accepted my monthly premiums up to the end of March 2023 but never e-mailed me regarding short payment on premiums. My intention as the insured was clear I never missed a premium. That is why I say Hollard life ****med me intenttionally to not pay the life cover to my estate when I die. I will send all Hollard and my emails to the Ombudsman to proof my point. W M Kunz
