Hollard Life is failing my 79-year-old grandfather, double debits, no answers, no accountability

appalled by Hollard Life's treatment of my grandfather, a loyal client of many years. He is 79 years old, and they have started double-debiting his account, money he genuinely cannot afford to lose twice over.

When we've tried to resolve this, we've been met with unanswered calls, no follow-through on emails, and constant transfers between departments with no resolution. I am abroad, which makes calling and following up extremely expensive and difficult, and it feels like their agents are aware of this and are taking advantage of the fact that my grandfather is elderly and largely on his own.

We have asked, repeatedly, for the debit order to be moved to my name so my grandfather isn't carrying this burden, and even this simple request has gone nowhere. This entire situation has taken a toll on his health, and I am genuinely frightened about what happens if his policy lapses due to Hollard's incompetence, or worse, if a claim ever needs to be paid and we face this same wall of silence.

With how common ****s targeting the elderly are in South Africa right now, this experience has left me deeply uneasy. A company entrusted with an elderly client's life insurance should not make it this hard to get basic help. I would caution others to think carefully before signing up with Hollard Life.

I'm reaching out to this community because I don't know where else to turn. My 79-year-old grandfather has been a loyal Hollard Life client for years, and they've been double-debiting his account. We've called, emailed, and followed up repeatedly, and we keep getting passed between agents with no one actually fixing it.
I'm abroad, so every call costs me a fortune, and it's incredibly hard to manage this from a distance while also worrying about my grandfather's health, which this stress is affecting. Hollard won't even let us move the debit order into my name so he isn't carrying this burden alone.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? What actually worked for you?
• Did tagging Hollard here get a real response, or is that a dead end?
• Is there a direct escalation contact (not the call centre) that actually resolves things?
• Has anyone gone to the Ombudsman for Long-term Insurance and had success — how long did it take?
I feel like we're being brushed off because he's elderly and I'm far away, and I'm honestly scared this policy could lapse or that a future claim would be just as hard to get paid. Any advice from people who've been through this would mean a lot.
