HOLLARD FUNERAL POLICY HELL

My dad passed away on 20th May 2018 and had a funeral policy in place with Hollard since 1995. When we initially started our enquiry on 28th May 2018 into the payment of this policy to help cover the funeral costs we were told that because the policy was so old it had not migrated to the new system and that another department handled these policies -- this department to date has yet to answer their phone!! Eventually we downloaded the necessary forms from their website, completed and attached all paperwork required and mailed through to their Life Claims admin email address on 4th June 2018. Still no response. Have now resent the paperwork three times and tried to follow up telephonically everyday - I have as yet not been able to speak to a single person who can give me a reasonable timeline on this payment . The payment however, is still happily going off my dad's bank account. My dad's two other policies with ABSA Bank were paid within 48 hours of them receiving the paperwork . So guess where we are moving all our policies to!! It is now a month since my dad's passing and this is what i would like Hollard to answer -- what about all your clients who will rely on that policy to pay for their loved one's funeral when the time comes -- we at least had the means to cover the cost in the interim -- but how disrespectful and heartless of you Hollard to put your clients in this embarrassing and unfortunate position when they also still need to deal with the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one!!!
