Hollard does not know how debit orders work

On 15 December I received an SMS as a debit order was put through my account from Hollard. Not disputing the fact that there is a policy that is held with Hollard, but rather the date of the debit order. The agreed date (mandated date for Hollard to debit), is every month on the 26th. With that said, the debit order bounced due to the fact that I transfer all my money to my Credit Card, and do not keep any funds in my cheque account.

After contacting Hollard they said that this debits in December is put through clients’ accounts as it is the holiday season. WHO ON THIS GREEN EARTH DOES THAT, AS WELL AS GAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DEBIT EARLIER??? Furthermore, it was mentioned that NEADO is used for the debits, and that is how it works. According to Hollard, the transaction will be presented, show as unpaid and will not generate a charge from my bank as this is not an unpaid transaction. Tell me Hollard, how can it not be if my statement states UNPAID TRANSACTION??????????

If you look at the BankServ rules as well, it states that a debit may only be processed the first working day after an action date falls on a weekend or public holiday…………………NOT 12 DAYS EARLIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking to the agent (middleman between me and the Debit Order processing department), no one could tell me what tracking the transaction was on, but that it is in “tracking”. Nonsense, you re-processed the transaction for the 28th.

I was asked to please keep an eye on the charges as there "will not be any". Low and behold I was charged R150 for the unpaid transaction - Surprise, surprise!!!!!!

Needless to say, come the 28th of December, the transaction was re processed and was successfully.

I was told to please send a copy of my charge statement and bank statement (once again the clients problem to get all the information), mail it to Hollard and they will reimburse me the charge. Mail was sent on 11/01/2017 and to this day….wait for it……..not a word from Hollard.

I need to know a few things:

1: Who gave permission that you may debit be earlier?

2: When am I going to get the R150 back for your mistake?

3: How are you going to get the “un-authorised overdraft” that is recorded at my bank off of my account as this is a mark against my name that it went into overdraft, and affects my credit record.
