Finding every excuse in the book to stall payout of my mom's life insurance claim

My mom passed away on the 14th of January 2017. My dad has been battling with the brokers and Hollard to get this life insurance claim processed ever since. There's always some excuse, and another hoop to jump through.

Now, when it looked like they were finally satisfied with the stacks of documents submitted ... hello curve ball! They suddenly require a copy of the death certificate from my mom's country of birth. Even though she passed away in Fourways Life, has been living in South Africa for the past 13 years ago, was a permanent resident here, and Home Affairs have issued a death certificate. Not only that, they've got written statements by her surgeon, and affidavit from the funeral director, and stacks more docs.

So now, at the end of a seven and a half month wait, suddenly they've come up with a brand new *requirement* (read stalling tactic); bring us what is basically a foreign translation of the local certified death certificate that we already have. And then once you've done that, we'll probably give you the run around again. Cos that's how we roll ...

Sorry Hollard, we're done playing this game.

You have 48 hours (hey, it's your ad) to pay out this claim, or we're taking this to the ombudsman.
