Disappointing Treatment on Hollard Insurance
I am disappointed in the service that Hollard renders to its clients. In March, I added a beneficiary to my existing policy that increased my premium from R960 to R1300. To my surprise, instead of the Hollard broker to add to the existing premium, they rather made another policy in my name, and it then deducted double the premium from March to date.
On the 30th of March, I sent an email containing my cancellation form to the company and I was told after a follow up call that it was never received. After another follow up call to the office, they sent an email requesting for my copy of ID and 3 specimen signatures which was sent to them on the 21st of August.
I then followed up with the Head Office the next day which was the 22nd of August to confirm if the copy of ID and the specimen of my signatures were received and I was told YES all was received. Another follow up call was made to the same said office on the 28th of August to check on the status of the refund of the over-deducted premiums, and to my surprise, I was informed that the documents they confirmed on the 22nd received, were not received. On the 29th of August I called the office, and I was told that an email would be sent by the office to the insurance broker to also follow up.
The level of transparency of Hollard insurance with her clients is not admirable despite all they promise you when they are on the phone with you. It all seems like to debit order your account is easier than to refund something they have not been truthful about. I am requesting a refund of the double premiums that have been debited from my account since the policy was canceled with the knowledge of the policy broker on the 28th of February 2023 which was debited from my salary until June 2023. I request that an urgent treatment of my request be escalated to the right department as it has taken so long, and I am enough with the transfer from desk to desk.
