Debit Order taken off without consent!

Please see the follow up email below that I sent and STILL await a reply (through Direct Axis / Hollard Insurance). Beware of these two business partners for your own financial prortection. I will post a further comment, should the matter eventually be reseolved!

I note with regret and absolute disgust that Direct Axis has debited my bank account on 31st May 2016 on behalf of Hollard Insurance for an amount of R 49.00 being a "funeral policy"? and then after contacting the call center am told that it is not Direct Axis' problem, but Hollard Insurance?????

As my account with Direct Axis was settled in full at the beginning of May 2016 (which by the way I find the early settlement penalty far too exorbitant!), I would have expected that this policy (which I assume is a form of some security for Direct Axis?) would have ceased or that Hollard Insurance would have had the business courtesy to contact me, either via the Direct Axis call centre or directly, to enquire as whether I still required this "cover"?

Either of these options were not afforded myself and I take exception that upon enquiring with Direct Axis call centre, I am told to contact Hollard Insurance? I am or was Direct Axis' client in the first instance and given that the funds deducted from my bank account went to Direct Axis (I assume for onward payment to Hollard Insurance), I demand that Direct Axis take responsibility for this ************ business practice and firstly ensure that this policy is cancelled and written confirmation provided to me to this effect and secondly that a refund be forthcoming within 48 hours of date hereof, failing which, I will take the matter up with the ombudsman concerned and post a suitable comment on "Hello Peter".

This was the third facility that I had entered into with Direct Axis and as in the case of the first facility, I again find myself having received very poor service. It was only as a result of the GM of Direct Axis at the time, contacting me and sorting out my problem in the first instance that I again used Direct Axis for my next financial assistance. I have since had nothing but poor service (suggest you check your records over the past 18 months to verify the various frustrations I was or have been subjected to!) even though Direct Axis have never had any issue or problem with me meeting my obligations timeously and without default.

I have subsequently received another offer of assistance from Direct Axis, which I certainly will not be considering, nor will I consider Direct Axis in the future. Over and above this, I will never accept any policy from Hollard Insurance after the most unacceptable, rude and unprofessional manner in which this latest query has been dealt with and ask that you kindly forward a copy hereof to the relevant "customer care" person at Hollard Insurance for their comment.

I await my written confirmation of cancellation of the policy (including an undertaking that no further debits will be raised against my bank account without my prior knowledge and consent) and the refund of R 49.00 by close of business on Friday 3rd June 2016.

I was contacted by an employee of Direct Axis soon after I published the above post, who was most appologetic and after a few phone calls, advised me that the funds taken out of my account by Direct Axis on behalf of Hollard Insurance, would be refunded within the month of June 2016..............as of today, there are still no funds returned to my bank account.
I would therefore suggest that anyone considering doing any business with either of these entities, consider alternatives as there is a total lack of "customer care" and retentions of long lasting business relationships, is obviously not important to either!
