What a *******

It's been over 2 years since I have taken out the comprehensive cover and due to human error, accidents happen. I have submitted my 1st claim for the minor bumber bash on my vehicle. I was instructed by Hollard to take the vehicle to any of their approved panel beater for an assessment. During the assessment the gentlemen at the panel beater took photos around the damaged areas of my vehicle and he clearly stated what needs to be replaced and repaired. I received the quotation(off +-R12000) the same day and the quote consisted off exactly what was told to me. The quote was then sent through to Hollard with the assessment report. After a few days and multiple calls to the claims dept, Hollard had reduced the quote to R4600 for no logical reason other than to save money. Which leaves me with a R4000 excess and Hollard would pay R600(much less than my damn monthly premium). As per the claims dept, the quote was reduced as they find the quote to have items which is not accident related and unnecessary, how the hell would the consultant know what is accident related if he/she has not physically seen the vehicle and has only seen photos, there are damages that can't be seen on photos( behind the bumper and the grill ) which Hollard removed from the quote. If this is how they work than it seems that they do not trust their approved panel beaters and the quoting on the necessary just seems like a waste of their time. I find it really useless to have car insurance with Hollard and they have really changed my outlook towards the company. I am so ****ed off with them after paying them so much and with the little that they want to pay out, the company is a damn joke. My premiums were all payed on time with no difficulties, it's now their time to pay for what is due.
